It's Good to Be Home Home

On Friday, May 25th we headed for the "lake home" the first time this year.  We left close to my bed time so I made the long haul in my jammies.  I stayed awake for more than half the trip and next thing I knew it was morning and Curious George was on tv!

After breakfast we headed down to the dock for a swim.  I headed straight for the kid pool, but finally got in the lake after a little hesitation and enjoyed it quite a bit.  After getting out of the water, of course it was naked baby time.  We slathered on the sun screen and hung in the kid pool some more and pointed out all the boats going by.

Generally the lake is a pretty great time because I get to do a lot of things I don't do at home.  Watch cartoons, stay up later than normal, eat popcorn with no hands!

Saturday night after dinner with the neighbors, we did some reading on the deck before bed.  So relaxing!

Sunday morning we did one more swim session and this time let the doggies join us.

We headed back "home home" Sunday afternoon.  Well what should be awaiting me but more water time.  The sprayground at the park nearby is open for summer and I enjoyed it immensely more than last year now that I'm much more mobile.

On Memorial Day I visited BobBob and Ta and successfully modeled my jumper.  We played out in the driveway all morning.  They had out the pool, the hose, and the mister for me to run through (although run through I did not).  There was plenty to eat too!

I even figured out a better way to eat pizza.  Toppings first of course!

The visit wouldn't be complete without a trip to Walmart and mom trying to steal my thunder by squeezing herself into the bus ride.

When it was time to go home, I put on my best pouty face, but I couldn't sway mom to let me stay longer.  Woe is me.

On Tuesday I headed over to Donna's house and visited with my friend Aiden who I hadn't seen in quite awhile.  He was napping when I got there so I woke him up.  We did quite a bit of playing, shared a meal, then hugged it out before I headed home.

I forgot to mention that dad drove back to the lake Monday afternoon to do some painting and staining.  I miss him dearly, but will see him tomorrow which kicks off my 2 nights alone with dad.  Mom is headed to Denver with auntie Nicole.  I'm not sure what we have in store for the next 3 days, but I promise to be on my best behavior (wink wink)!

Mister Jason

Saturday, May 19th.  I can't remember exactly what caused this tear, but I don't remember anything bad happening.

After whatever said incident was, we packed up and headed to target.  Dad and I jousted with the noodles and ultimately not to purchase.  We made a side trip to Trader Vic's...er Joe's (I always get those mixed up) where I walked away with some stickers.

Before Libby headed over to watch me (mom and dad had another play to go to) I did a little hiding and seeking...mostly hiding though.  I thought the cupboard pure genious, but dad found me in under a minute.

Mister Jason came over on Sunday morning.  He was at the hospital the day after I was born, but I didn't we just missed each other (I was in the NICU) and I vaguely remember meeting him one other time.  He's been away at school for well over a year so mom and dad threw a little welcome back shindig and he spent the morning with us as well.

After breakfast we headed to his church for some "hallelujah" time.   Jason's friends said I behaved very well, but mom was a little skeptical based on the "running down the side aisle incident".

After a whole house nap, the party started.  As you can see, all of my friends made an appearance!  And the slice of watermelon in my hand below might have been number 6.  I lost count after 3.

You can tell by this picture that Ta is recounting her "fish this big" story.

You know, that Evan is a cutie, but his little bro Zach is going to give him a run for his money.

Well, well, well...what do we have here?

Here are Avery and I discussing the semantic contributions of dodgeball.  After agreeing to disagree, she put me in a choke hold.  We thumb wrestled and called it a truce.

Mister Jason, I rather enjoyed spending the day with you.  It took me a little while to warm up, but I can easily see why mom and dad love you so much and can't wait for your more permanent Welcome Home!

Potty Time

Mom was too lazy to cook, so on Friday, March 11th we went out for some pizza.  I win!  The whole "insert straw into small hole" game can be rather tricky, but I mastered it after a few tries.

On Saturday morning I headed up to Mimi's for a slumber party.  Mom and dad had a wedding to attend so I crashed at her place that night.  A nod to Bob and Toi for taking the dogs at the last minute...it's easy to forget about them when you have a crazy kid like me running around.

One of dad's college buddies was getting hitched.  Not sure if you remember my friend Jackson from daycare (he's since moved to a new school) but his mom and dad went too.  I'm guessing by the looks that he's expecting a bro or sis.

As you can also see, dad had a rather good time!

Sunday was mother's day.  Somehow dad persuaded Mimi to consider me staying overnight her gift.  Hmm...how does that work?

After heading home and taking a pretty good nap, we stopped by to tell Ta happy Mother's Day too.

Mom actually took a stab at holding Paige and me at the same time.  She was sweating by the time the picture finished taking.

Lately my new favorite thing to do before I hop in the bath is run around the house naked.  For some reason it makes mom and dad laugh hysterically, but I'm not sure why.

Mom thought it would be best to blur the picture since this is getting posted for my future boyfriends to read.  Of course it's not as easy to blur a youtube video...

The biggest news of the week is that I started sitting on the potty at school.  And actually using it!  I did it two days in a row!  No such luck at home yet, but it's a start.

Some other fun things this week included Dido dropping by for dinner, Dad got me a new Doctor kit, and school had a picnic on Friday, May 18th, complete with worms, turtles, and my usual playground all to myself!!!
