Tourney Time

So we're wrapping up March Madness and apparently mom is guaranteed second place in her basketball pool due to the crazy upsets that happened on Sunday.  Congrats mom and I'm expecting you to spend your winnings on me.  As the saying goes, baby needs a new pair of shoes!

On Saturday we were supposed to head out to see the Nass' new pad, but since Mom and I both have a cold, we stayed in.  Boo.

Sunday was another trip out to see Gma and Gpa Duncan.  Pierce pushed me around the house in the stroller which kept me very entertained.  Notice the big bruise on his head where he collided with a schoolmate.  Before dinner, I proceeded to spit up all over Aunt Brandi (just preparing her for her new arrival) and the big event of the night was mom trying to feed me some of Gma's sweet potatoes off the table and burning my mouth.  Oh yeah...I wailed.  After some ice water I was back on track and eating my Apples and Cherries.

On Monday I was still feeling a bit crappy and woke up at 5:15am with a hacking cough.  Mom soothed me and put me back to bed.  As a surprise, she and dad stopped by daycare again to cheer me up.  It definitely helps.  School has this awesome little buggy that I can sit on all by myself.

That evening, Parents as Teachers dropped by to do my evaluation again.  Mrs. Woodman made me dump tennis balls out of a cannister.  Seems easy, but you'd be surprised.  They said some things I should start working on is pushing buttons, pointing to pictures when mom says words, and drinking water from a cup with no lid.  Scary!

On Tuesday dad came and picked me up for lunch.  How fun!  We went to the Classic Cookie and I got a basket of mini muffins and cookies that were my sized :-)

Dido and Donna came over to watch me on Tuesday night so mom and dad could go to their homeowners annual meeting.  Mom got re-elected as the official party planner (more formally known as Director of Special Events) while Dido gave me piggy back rides and Donna tickled me silly.

Here I am mid-yawn in my jammies.  You'd think I was going to bed, but no...I'm up and getting ready to go to school.  I vote for jammie day everday!!!

BTW - Avery Davenport turns 2 on Friday!  Happy Early shout out to her and I hope she gets a ton of great gifts.  And I don't mean clothes.

P.S. I've figured out I have to share my toys with Sammie :-(  Trust me, it's not by choice.

I Voted

Sunday, March 20 was the first day of Spring and boy was it a great one with sunshine and temps in the high 70's.  The doggies and I visisted BobBob and Ta.  We went for a long stroller ride with the dogs and they ran around and swam in the lake all afternoon.  They were worn out by the time we headed home.  Sam was so tired he laid his head on my carseat and Porter crawled into the front with mom and put her head on the armrest.

As of last week I'm officially in Size 3 diapers!  To recap, here's the progression: Newborn, 1, 2, now 3.  For some reason the 1's and 2's look a lot alike?

On Monday, dad left for Chi-town again.  His last week there.  Horray!  We missed him like crazy, but he'll be a stay at home dad for the next month or so at least.  This meant mom and I got to spend the whole week together.  Here are some of the things we did...

* Went on a stroller ride and took BOTH dogs
* Voted for Mayor
* Got a visit from Grandma and Grandpa D
* Played catch

On a side note, I got this sweet new toy last weekend.  Mom saw it over at Evan Ungles' house on New Year's Eve and since all the kids were pawing over it, she got me my own one!

On Friday, Dad ran into Michele and Michael and invited them over to watch the first half of the KU game.  Michele always gives me lots of loving and kisses.  Our neighbors Annie and Jake also dropped by to say hi to me.  She snapped a few pics of me in the tub.

Here's some of my latest artwork from school.  Teacher squirted some ink on a paper and let us play with our hands.  Miss Lindsey thinks the first one looks like a runner.  The second one is much more abstract.

Incisors

First of all, how fun is this pic?  Dad's friend sent it to him from NYC.  How fun would it be if I actually lived on Ludlow St!

On Sunday, March 13th, mom and dad got a feel that my first tooth was starting to come in!  Mom is trying to get a good pic of it, but it's just a "nubbin" still.  I'd prefer to wait until it's full grown to show it off.

BobBob swung by around 2pm to pick me up to take me out to see Ta!  I left mom and dad at home to do yard work.  I hardly missed them while I was showered with gifts, love, and best of all, carted around in Cousin Pierce's old stroller.  Mom and dad finally showed up around 4pm and stayed for dinner before hauling me home for the night.

Duck Shoes Rock!

Something smells fishy here...
On Wednesday I headed up to Mimi and Max's house for some pre-St Patrick's day goodies.  We had corned beef and cabbage as Mimi informed me this was the traditional Irish fare.  Before lunch they let me wear my investigator disguise glasses.

Thursday was an exceptionally beautiful day in KC.  Temperature reached to the high 70's (that's about 25 celsius for my BKK fans) and mom took me on a 30 minute stroller jog.

On Friday I saw Miss Lindsey twice!  Once at school and then she surprised me for a visit that evening too so mom and dad could go see a movie.

On Saturday my second cousin Megan dropped in from Boulder.  Uncle Stan and Aunt Jo met her in KC (from Illinois) to pick up her dog while she's out of town for a bit.  Grandma Jeanne came too and watched me all night so mom and dad could go out again.  The nerve!  They went to a KC Rep show.

Last but not least, I'm starting to get my teeth!  My bottom right incisor is peeping through and I can't wait!  This means I'll be eating donuts and fried chicken before you know it!  Mom tried to snap some pics, but I don't really want to show it off yet. I win!

Mom played dress up with me:

St. Patty

Monday night Gpa Ludlow dropped by.  He brought me pizza and kisses.  I tried to sneak a sip of his Miller Lite, but mom said absolutely not....yet.  Notice the naughty smirk on my face.

Wednesday I didn't nap great at school in the afternoon and I was wired when I got home so didn't nap at 5pm either.  Cause and Effect.  By dinnertime (which was slightly earlier than normal) I was falling asleep between bites of food:

Friday was great day here in the midwest.  Mom came to visit me over lunch since she knew Miss Michelle was going to let me play with green Jello in preparation for St. Patty's Day.

It's finally starting to feel like spring, so mom got the stroller out and took me over to Loose Park.  We did a couple laps in the Bob and I loved staring at the doggies and joggers.

Saturday, March 12th was the Brookside St. Patty's Day parade.  I figured that it was named after mom, but dad set me straight.  The real parade isn't until Thursday 3/17, but this is a warm-up.  Almost all of my friends made it over (Evan, Avery, Jackson, Emmerson, Wil, Mason, etc) for the parade and festivities.  It was a gorgeous day and I think all us kids had a good time watching the fun!

What a fabulous green dress Avery has.  I was definitely "green" with envy.

Here I am trying to get another swig of beer, but mom intervened just in time.  Doh.  Aunty Nicole even stuck around to feed me dinner.

Last but not least, here's some footage of me in my Jenny "Swing Me Around":
